A lustrous, sharply struck 1942-S Washington quarter from the San Francisco mint. This premium gem specimen retains frosted original surfaces with gentle russet toning and is graded MS67 by NGC. The 1942-S Washington quarter saw the second highest mintage from San Francisco during the series. In spite of the increased circulation, 1942-S Washington quarters are conditionally rare at MS67 grade, with NGC listing only one finer example at MS68.
