A well worn Alabama centennial commemorative half dollar, which saw significant circulation in commerce. Issued in 1921 to commemorate the centennial anniversary of Alabama statehood, the obverse profile is that of William Bibb - Alabama's first Governor - and Thomas Kilby - the sitting Governor of Alabama in 1921. The 22 stars of the obverse indicate Alabama's place as the 22nd U.S. state. The reverse design is modelled on the state seal of Alabama. This example bears the XF Details designation from NGC.
