A beautifully preserved mint state example of the 1851 silver Three Cent Piece from the Philadelphia mint. Rich detail and a strong strike remain evident, earning this coin a grade of MS62 from NGC. This is an example of the first year of issue. The three cent denomination was developed to facilitate the purchase of three cent stamps issued by the US postal service. This is a wonderful example of silver Three Cent Piece in excellent preservation.
